Support
Note: Android version coming soon. Current instructions are for iOS.
Getting Started
When you first launch DotKiosk:
- Set a 4 digit PIN to protect settings
- Enter the URL you want to display
- The webpage loads in fullscreen
How do I access settings?
Shake the device to open the settings modal. You'll be prompted to enter your PIN.
How do I configure remotely?
DotKiosk includes a built-in admin dashboard:
- Open settings on the kiosk device to find its IP address
- On another device (phone, tablet, computer) on the same WiFi network, open a browser
- Navigate to
http://<device-ip>:8742
- Log in with your PIN
- Change URL or settings from the dashboard
I forgot my PIN
If you forget your PIN, you'll need to reset the app:
- Delete DotKiosk from your device
- Reinstall from the App Store
- Set up a new PIN
This clears all stored configuration.
How do I fully lock the device? (iOS)
For complete kiosk lockdown (preventing users from exiting the app), enable iOS Guided Access:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access
- Turn on Guided Access and set a passcode
- Open DotKiosk
- Triple-click the side button (or home button) to start Guided Access
Users won't be able to exit the app until Guided Access is disabled.
The page shows an error
If the kiosk shows a loading error:
- Check that the device has internet access
- Verify the URL is correct and accessible
- Try opening the URL in Safari to confirm it loads
- Tap "Retry" to reload the page
Remote admin not working
If you can't access the admin dashboard:
- Ensure both devices are on the same WiFi network
- Check the IP address shown in the kiosk settings
- Make sure you're using
http:// (not https)
- Port is 8742 — try
http://192.168.x.x:8742
- On iOS 14+, grant Local Network permission when prompted
